Cryptocurrency, regulation developments and tax - what does 2022 have in store?

As we welcome in 2022, our Head of Investment Analysis, Laith Khalaf, kick-started our 'Off the Road' webinar series for the year with an outlook for the year ahead.

He addressed what could be in store for investment markets, discussed potential tax changes, and gave a helpful run-through of developments currently sitting with the regulator that could affect retirement planning and investment strategies. With cryptocurrency still making the headlines, Laith also considered some key developments to help navigate client questions on this controversial asset class.

Laith Khalaf started his career in financial services at Hargreaves Lansdown in 2001, after studying philosophy at Cambridge University. He’s worked in a variety of roles across pensions and investments, covering both the DIY and the advised sides of the business. In 2007, he began to focus on research and analysis, and has since become a leading industry commentator, as well as a regular contributor to the financial pages of the national press. He’s a frequent guest on TV and radio, and for several years provided daily business bulletins on LBC.
