Senior Technical Consultant Charlene Young takes a look at protected retirement ages, protected pension commencement lump sums (PCLS) and why these concepts are still relevant 15 years on from A-Day.

During this technical session, Charlene will also cover PCLS calculations in practice and how scheme-specific protection interacts with the various forms of lifetime allowance protection.

She joined AJ Bell in 2014 after relocating to Manchester from Bristol, where she held financial planner and paraplanner roles at leading firms. In addition to analysing and commenting on technical and regulatory issues, Charlene is also responsible for designing and providing technical training for AJ Bell staff.
