Q4 2020 – market, economic and MPS update

Head of Active Portfolios Ryan Hughes reviews the performance of the global markets during the final quarter of 2020 – yet another turbulent period, as the ongoing upheaval caused by the global pandemic carried on unfolding.

As governments and central banks continue to provide support where possible, Ryan takes a look at the volatility of gilts and the major split between Western and Eastern economies – in particular India, as it starts to show signs of recovery, and Alibaba’s share price, as it’s rocked by the Ant IPO cancellation.

Ryan also explores what this means for our Passive, Active and Pactive MPSs, before finishing off by offering his outlook on the unchartered territory that is 2021 and potentially beyond.
