Funds & Shares Service

The Funds & Shares Service (F&SS) is AJ Bell’s in-house stockbroker. AJ Bell is a member of the London Stock Exchange, which means we can offer access to a comprehensive range of investment options, while enjoying greater control over when to buy and sell your investments. It also allows us to react quickly to any changes in demand.

As well as keeping charges low and service levels high, it also gives us the freedom to innovate as we respond to the ever-changing needs of our advisers and their clients.

The F&SS is available through all our products, and provides access to the Managed Portfolio Service, the AJ Bell Passive funds and an execution-only service called F&SS XO, which allows clients to manage investments themselves.

Tools and functionality

Key features of the F&SS include the ability to ‘bulk’ buy and sell the same holdings across multiple clients, and a Regular Investment Service that allows you to set up automatic investments on a monthly basis without incurring any dealing charges.

You can also create, store and amend your own model portfolios, or hold investments outside of a model portfolio through the reserved holdings functionality.

The F&SS portfolio x-ray tool lets you quickly analyse the asset allocation, stock sectors and underlying holdings that make up a portfolio, while the performance tool lets you see time-weighted returns, compare your client’s portfolio against multiple benchmarks and select your own comparison dates.

And then there’s our research centre, which provides full details of the funds, equities, ETFs and investment trusts that are available to invest in.
